Hello I am Kerrian and this is what I want to use my blog to achieve!

I want to:

  1. Help in providing quality bilingual French and English resources.

Primarily, I want to help my audience support their English-speaking child who is learning French. I am passionate about this because I have managed to support my three monolingual English-speaking boys from never speaking a word of French to now speaking fluent French. I hope to help parents understand the dynamism behind being bilingual, and to see their child's second language as not just spoken words but as a way of life.

2. Recommend a range of bilingual books to support learners in their French language.

3. Help parents support the social and emotional needs of their bilingual children.

4. Help parents support their children in maintaining their mother tongue as they learn a new language.

5: Help in providing a community where parents can share tips on supporting their children on their journey to being bilingual.

5 people who will benefit from my blog

You are in the right place if:

  • Your child is English speaking and learning French
  • You are looking for resources to help keep your child engaged at home in their French learning
  • If you want your child to speak French faster
  • If you want to learn more about the phenomena of bilingualism
  • If you want to support the social and emotional well-being of your child.
  • if you are French-speaking and your child is learning English

Conclusion

Learning a new language is a marathon and not a sprint. It can be daunting, more so when you have moved abroad and there is a real need for inclusion to get on with your daily lives. It does not have to be head smashing though. On this blog I will share as I learn, and share what I have used to support my three English-speaking boys to fluent French-speaking children with my oldest now learning Dutch as his third language.

Happy reading and remain positive.
